Operando & in-situ cells for X-ray diffraction

Observe. Understand. Innovate.

Reveal the hidden dynamics of battery materials. Our HexaCell operando cells let you follow structural changes in real time, while your battery is cycling — in the lab or at the synchrotron.

How it works

Watch your materials work, not just before and after.

Operando diffraction captures what really happens inside an electrode during charge and discharge: phase transitions, lattice evolution, reaction mechanisms.

01

Assemble

Fill the HexaCell like a standard battery cell. Its streamlined design makes assembly quick and the sealing reliable.

02

Mount & cycle

Place the cell on your diffractometer or beamline with the dedicated holder, connect your potentiostat and start cycling.

03

Understand

Collect diffraction patterns continuously and correlate structural changes with the electrochemistry, in real time.

Why HexaCell

Designed by battery researchers, for battery researchers.

We use operando diffraction in our own research. The HexaCell — known in the literature as the LeRiChe'S Cell, successor of the Leriche cell — is the operando XRD electrochemical cell we wanted to have on our bench.

  • Light and easy to fillStreamlined assembly that saves you time in the lab.
  • Reliable sealingConsistent, leak-tight performance over long cycling experiments.
  • Flexible windowsBeryllium, aluminium or glassy carbon, depending on your experiment.
  • Lab & synchrotronHolders available for common diffractometers and beamlines.
